I am Seshu, the founder of SQWHAT By The Parentales, and I am a mother of two young boys, Ilan and Aran. Witnessing my eldest son struggle with severe constipation was an extremely painful experience for our family, and we tried everything we could to ease his pain, including using laxatives. But I was determined to find a more effective and sustainable approach.
Spending three months on our farm during the pandemic, we observed Ilan squatting every time he needed to poop. This natural and efficient position for humans to eliminate waste is commonly used in Indian toilets in India. When we noticed that Ilan was able to defecate on the ground with less strain and discomfort, we knew we had discovered something significant.
As a result, my family and I embarked on a journey to design a potty chair that accommodated both Western and Indian-style (squat) positions to help children like Ilan overcome constipation. It was a challenging but fulfilling process, and after months of prototyping and testing, we finally arrived at a design that was effective and practical.
SQWHAT is more than just a product to me - it's a solution that has the power to make a real difference in the lives of families struggling with constipation. I am proud to share this innovation with others, and I hope it can help many families achieve happier and healthier bowel movements.
